Forced into retirement: No
Retirement preparation: I prepared for partial retirement building contacts who could help me in part time work and other interests.
Describe typical day: Work four or five days a month, play golf when time permits, do a bit of writing from time to time, meet friends at the beach most mornings, participate with daughters and grand children.
Look forward to retirement: Yes
Expectations: As above
Hobbies: Not really as there was insufficient time – worked long days, travelled a lot for business, weekends were not always free time.
Continue to work: No
Retraining: No
What would you change about second career: Nothing, it has worked out better than I could have expected.
Encounter ageism: Not a problem – grey hair works as a company director.

Advice for others: Build the biggest nest egg you can pre-retirement; develop contacts that can help you in retirement, diversify your interests (in my case writing a book), try something that you have never done before, do some study, diversify your interest.
